4/5/2017  Another posting to my blog tonight.  This time as the Travel Tracer. What I am finding when I am reading this story is that without making notes, and knowing what chapter is which, I can lose track in where I am in my reading and keeping the story organized.  Frustrating on my part; shame on me for not keeping better details; but getting lost in the story line (in a good way).

Travel Tracer - This role involves recording where the major shifts in action or location take place in the novel for the reading section. Keeping track of shifts in place, time, and characters helps students keep track of important shifts in the novel.

1. Mom wants to invite new neighbor over for hamburgers; Catherine tries to invite over when speaking with the new neighbor mom, but her daughter is at her father’s for the weekend which spoils the chance of meeting her. (Chapter 6)

2. OT session for David at the clinic; Catherine goes too and looks forward to speaking with Jason and giving him new word cards she has made for his communications book. (Chapter 7)

3. Kristi (new neighbor friend) comes over to hang out at Catherine's house; so stressful embarrassing for Catherine because of David. (Chapter 8)

4.  Catherine gets to go over to Kristi's house which is far less complicated, less stressful than being at home where David can be unpredictable. Catherine feels she "can be herself". (Chapter 9, p. 89)

5. OT session again for David.  Catherine brought one of her guinea pigs (Nutmeg) to show Jason. They both share conversations about the additional words Catherine has made for him. Catherine shares favorite CD of Avril Lavigne with Jason. (Chapter 10)

6. Gum incident with Catherine, Kristin, Ryan and David. (Chapter 11)

7. OT session for David. Catherine takes Jason for a so called ‘run’ in his wheel chair. Many stop to watch from the street, shops and restaurants. Standing ovation when they return from those inside the OT clinic. (Chapter 12)

8. Dad at home working in garden; Catherine hoping to spend some alone time with him but he’s too busy with clients and the shoppe. Catherine feels left and David always come first. (Chapter 13)

9. Catherine and Kristi go for a swim at the pond. Share a few intimate “wishes” they each have. (Chapter 14)
